I use various Rackspace services for many years but I had no idea that you could simplify your life that much! Everyday I am very busy and have a lot on my mind. I will give it a try and check your modules. From what I read, I can save a lot of my time and make things easier. And time is never enough :)

I don’t understand something, maybe someone can explain I understand that a cloud setup can balance between servers, by that I understand that it balances things like requests and ram usage, but how is the database thing done? For example a visitor logs in to a high traffic site, it can have 1000 servers but it still needs to read the user’s user/pass from one db location? right? Or maybe the different servers keeps copies of the database synchronised non-stop? How does this work?

    Hello,

Rackspace Load Balancers offer you a root access to the server therefore you can set up database management however you like. You can have all the data on one database or keep the data on several synchronised databases. You are given with all the tools to adjust the database/s work according to your needs. You are not limited in a specific solution.

Having read this I believed it was very informative. I appreciate you taking the time and energy to put this information together. I once again find myself personally spending way too much time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile!

  7. This looks like a must have for those interested in reselling Rackspace services. Does Rackspace require a minimum lease period for their cloud services, or do you just pay for what you use?

  8. Our company actually decided to do business with RackSpace because of the module you provide to interface the professional email. Until a few months ago, we never considered selling hosted exchange. The only reason we did is thanks to the wonderful module you guys have created. We are looking forward to be able to offer cloud hosting as well!

  9. Sean,

Rackspace don’t require a minimum lease period of their cloud services. You only pay for what you use. There are no additional fees or payments.

Keeping things automated is always a big issue. It doesn’t matter if company A or company B provides a good product. In order for it to be marketed to your customers some type of automation must come in to play, and I think its great that such a detailed module is available for just about all the services at rackspace.

It would be handy if there was a storage module!
